As I type this Nina Federoff is on C-SPAN telling the world how great GMO crops and foods are!
Just when I thought the double whammy of two recent books, Jeffrey Smith's Genetic Roulette: the Documented Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods (2007) and Marie-Monique Robin's The World According to Monsanto (2010), had driven a splintery stake through the heart of Frankenfood, the venerable New York Times funishes a Monsanto apologist (and former Condi Rice science and technology advisor in Dubbya's State Department) with precious column inches to extol the virtues of genetically-enginnered food (Nina V. Federoff, "Engineering Food for All"). Not surprisingly, it turns out she's just another "science-lite" yahoo, now so common among the GOP, diggin up old and disproven claims in her zest to help Monsanto's struggling bottom line. http://eco-accountant.blogspot.com/2011/08/zombie-scientist-frankenfood-can-feed.html.
