It's a Sad Day For Me!

Today I lost a friend of close to 13 years on the web,Mike Rivero webmaster par exellence at What was once the best all round news website bar none.
Another poster(That's all I am) My Catbird seat posted a piece of thinly vieled sugar coated Marxist drivel IMHO from Veterans Today! Here are the two paragraphs I wanted to discuss with Mike on air today. I only call about once a year anyway. After I told the call screener what I wanted to talk about he put me on hold for about thirty seconds and then dropped me. I tried to call back but with caller ID to no avail. Got me angry!
1.Here is the first paragraph I wanted to discuss:  "By equality we do not mean “equal opportunity” to get ahead in an unequal society. We mean equality of condition."
Equality of condition under socialism means as in Communist Russia or Communist China,  that we were all equally impoverished while the party hacks lived high on the hog!
2.All who contribute to society have free and equal access to its goods and services, which are shared according to need, not bought and sold. Money is not used. There are no rich and no poor. Here is what Rothschild stooge Karl Marx said: From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.
Karl Marx
3.All the things that people use to produce goods, such as factories and mines and large tracts of land, belong to all the people. These things are a common treasure for all of society, not the property of a few. Again Marx:  The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property.
Here is the link to the Veterans Today piece: http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/09/29/thinking-about-revolution/

Capitalism is private monopoly. Communism and Socialism is state monopoly! I am not for either. I am a free enterpriser. "The Pilgrims tried collectivism, socialism and communism and found that it produced slough, laziness and destroyed incentive. What did they do about it?
They trashed part of their contract with the London merchants; learned from the local Indians how to produce better crops and harvest more fish; assigned private property rights of land to all members; and, gave them the right to profit from their industry. What happened next?
Bradford wrote about this institution of Christian capitalism: “This had very good success for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.”
Their excess product caused them to create Thanksgiving." http://www.creationworldview.org/articles_view.asp?id=18T
I just wanted to point this out. I had already put a comment on the posted article so Mike knew what I was going to say pretty much. Never got on. In an email he told me that he preferred socialism over fascism. I wasn't going to call the demonstraters on Wall street commies! It's the authors of this deceptive piece I take issue with!  There we go again, the lesser of two evils philosophy that Mike showed us in 2008 when he supported Obama as the lesser of two evils over McCain. That worked out real well didn't it! President Obama is out Bushing President Bush. I know the Israeli's are real happy!
Me,I'm for freedom, not the lesser of two evils!
I'm sorry Mike I feel like a useful idiot a dupe even. But I'm most disappointed in you Mike!
Well Mike gave me a lifetime membership but I have the feeling I'm dead at Whatreally happened now! Hope some of you get to read this but without Mike linking me there wont be much traffic at Catamount Tavern I'm afraid. I was doing this blogging for free. If anybody knows my history they will know why I do it for free.
Anyway the Boys and I will plug away at this! I think America is worth saving and it's the only country I've got!  I am a Patriot and I love my country!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aab8DsAFTU  Paste the links in your browser if you want to reference them.Especially the link at the very bottom here to I am a Patriot, sung by Jackson Browne!

Censored!

I got censored by Mike Rivero today. I made a call to his show to talk about the revolution article put up by My Catbird Seat. I disagree with some of the stuff in it. I doubt if I will ever post there again or will be allowed by Mr. Rivero to post on his once excellent website! He tells me he prefers socialism! I prefer freedom. I've known him for 13 years and now I feel like a useful idiot and a dupe. I will keep plugging away at this site but without Mike linking my posts there wont be too much traffic. So if you wonder what happened to me that's it in a nutshell

U.S. reassures Pakistan amid anti-American protests

Looks like the bully has backed off for now. The prospect of fighting a nation with nukes(Pakistan) and backed by China(more nukes and manpower to burn) has caused somebody to reconsider starting another damn war! And like U.S.M.C. Major General Smedley Butler said many years ago;"War Is A Racket"!

FLASHBACK: Al Qaeda magazine celebrates 9/11 anniversary

Since Ole Anwar al Wacky is dead once again(Maybe permanently this time) perhaps Adam Gadhan aka Adam Pearlman can be persuaded  to take over Inspire magazine. After all he is qualified. Al Qaeda in Yemen has released an edition of its English-language magazine, "Inspire," celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
In the magazine, the group decries Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent remarks at the United Nations suggesting that the U.S. and Israeli spy agency Mossad may have orchestrated the attacks, saying that Ahmadinejad sought to discredit al Qaeda because "it succeeded where the Iranians had failed."  http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503543_162-20112927-503543.html

Marines set to ship more solar panels to Afghanistan

The Devil Dogs go green! Bring them home!

The U.S. Marine Corps will start shipping in December 10 sets of 20 solar panel systems to Afghanistan to power patrol and forward operating bases as part of an alternative energy initiative to cut the Corps’ fuel use in half by 2025.
Marines consume 5 million barrels of oil at a cost of $1 billion per year. Even more alarming is the number of Marines wounded hauling that fuel on streets laced with improvised explosive devices in the war zone. In switch, cable operators want to go "a la carte"

It's about time!
NEW YORK, Sept 27 (Reuters) - U.S. cable operators are privately working on a plan to force programmers to unbundle their networks and allow customers to subscribe to channels on an individual basis.
The plan represents a complete reversal from cable operators' long-held opposition to what is known as "a la carte" programming. Saudi King cancels lashing sentence for woman driver

Caveman Diet Plan

The concept behind the Caveman diet is that prehistoric people were much healthier than people today and by adopting the diet of cavemen, modern people can achieve the same level of health. Because human genetics don't change rapidly, proponents of the Caveman diet claim that humans are best suited for the diet utilized 40,000 years ago. The high consumption of grains and other carbohydrates in modern society is blamed for modern health problems such as obesity and diabetes. http://www.livestrong.com/article/380488-caveman-diet-plan/

Report: Drug war failed, legalize Marijuana!

A lot better for you than vodka!

A report by the Global Commission on Drug Policy concluded the global war on drugs has been an abysmal failure and that governments should consider legalizing marijuana and other controlled substances.
The commission, made up of experts, former heads of state, a former UN secretary-general, and business moguls, found that the drug war has done more harm than good.
"[The] global war on drugs has failed, with devastating consequences for individuals and societies around the world," the report said. “Political leaders and public figures should have the courage to articulate publicly what many of them acknowledge privately: that the evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that repressive strategies will not solve the drug problem, and that the war on drugs has not, and cannot, be won.”  http://rt.com/usa/news/report-global-drug-war-failed-legalize-marijuana/

A peek under Saudi Arabia's veil

DAMASCUS - Will the Arab Spring eventually reach Saudi Arabia? This question seems to be on everybody's mind, from think-tanks in the United States to traditional cafes in Damascus and Baghdad.

King Abdullah, aged 87, knows what it takes to please young Saudis. With swift moves, he has managed, for now, to keep a job bequeathed to him and his brothers by their father, the kingdom's founder, King Abdul Aziz. In March, shortly after the collapse of Saudi Arabia's ally, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, in what was seen as a pre-emptive measure, King Abdullah ordered a massive increase in spending, up to $130 billion over the next decade, on measures like affordable housing for young Saudis. http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/MI28Ak03.html

Occupy Wall Street protesters driven by varying goals

Occupy Wall StreetDay 13 of Occupy Wall Street begins with a march through the streets of Lower Manhattan around the time the opening bell rings on the stock exchange. (Carolyn Cole, Los Angeles Times / September 30, 2011)

The protest, which evolved from a network of individuals and groups galvanized by the demonstrations in Egypt last winter, has moved far beyond what it was on Sept. 17, when police barricaded the streets outside the Stock Exchange to prevent a march there to protest corporate greed. A map in Zuccotti Park pinpoints scores of other cities with Occupy Wall Street events either underway or planned, including sit-ins planned for Los Angeles on Saturday and Washington on Oct. 6.

Iraq War Crimes- Depleted Uranium 3 and 4

Iraq War Crimes- Depleted Uranium 1 and 2 of 4

Flashback: U.S. War Crimes in Iraq: A Prima Facie Case

Respectfully submitted to the International Criminal Courtby Paul Rockwell
Oakland, California

The international dispatches about the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq -- replete with graphic details about overcrowded hospitals, U.S. cluster bomb shrapnel buried in the flesh of children, babies deformed by U.S. depleted uranium, farms and markets destroyed by U.S. bombs -- do not make pleasant reading. The mounting evidence from Iraq establishes what many Americans may not want to face: that the highest leaders of the land are violating almost every international agreement relating to the rules of war. Unless we address the possibility of the war crimes by the Bush administration -- and the prima facie evidence is overwhelming -- we betray our conscience, our country, and our own faith in democracy.  http://www.inmotionmagazine.com/opin/pr_uswc.html#Anchor-Depleted-47857

Leaders On Test

An editorial From The Frontier Post
As the political leaders get together in Islamabad today in their conclave on the national response to the dire exigencies the country is caught up presently, they will be under close scrutiny of the public.

The Afghan war has palpably gone awry for the Americans and their NATO and Afghan allies, with now just an outside chance for them to salvage it. Not to look having been defeated, they are feverishly out to slap their near-certain debacle on Pakistan and make it their scapegoat and whipping boy. A volley of accusations and threats has already been unleashed on this country by the American generals and their political bosses as well as their lawmakers. Legislative measures are also afloat on the Congressional floors to twist Pakistan’s arm by flaunting the sword of aid stoppage. Their real intent is to browbeat and bend Pakistan to act as they want, regardless of how that venture could hurt Pakistan ruinously.  http://www.thefrontierpost.com/?p=61526

BEOWULF

Some Anglo-Saxon poetry. One of my favorites!
http://classiclit.about.com/library/bl-etexts/beowulf/bl-beowulf-all.htm
LO, praise of the prowess of people-kings
of spear-armed Danes, in days long sped,
we have heard, and what honor the athelings won!
Oft Scyld the Scefing from squadroned foes,
from many a tribe, the mead-bench tore,
awing the earls. Since erst he lay
friendless, a foundling, fate repaid him:
for he waxed under welkin, in wealth he throve,
till before him the folk, both far and near,
who house by the whale-path, heard his mandate,
gave him gifts: a good king he!
To him an heir was afterward born,
a son in his halls, whom heaven sent
to favor the folk, feeling their woe
that erst they had lacked an earl for leader
so long a while; the Lord endowed him,
the Wielder of Wonder, with world's renown.
Famed was this Beowulf:[1] far flew the boast of him,
son of Scyld, in the Scandian lands.

Rural Egyptians suffer most from increasing poverty

Things are tough for the little guy everywhere!

Poverty is on the rise in Egypt, particularly in rural areas, according to a study released earlier this month by the government statistics agency. Pentagon aims at target Pakistan

Syria will have to wait. The next stop in the Pentagon-coined "long war" is bound to be Pakistan. True, a war is already on in what the Barack Obama administration named AfPak. But crunch time in Pak itself looms closer and closer. Call it the "no bomb left behind" campaign.

Long March rocket fueled for Tiangong-1 space module launch

The United States can't even put a man or woman in space these days. How embarrassing!

JIUQUAN, Gansu, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- A spokesperson with China's manned space program said Wednesday that fuel has been injected into the Long March-2FT1 carrier rocket in preparation for launching the Tiangong-1 space module Thursday evening as planned.

The Long March-2FT1 is the latest modified model of the Long March-2 rocket series and features a more powerful thrust force, said spokeswoman Wu Ping at a press conference at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

Military links with Pentagon affected: Beijing

Taiwan arms deals and the mess in Pakistan. The attempt to cut China off from energy sources! I don't think the Chinese are too happy with our governments policies vis a vis them!

China-US military exchanges and joint drills will be disrupted by Washington's announcement of a US$5.85 billion arms package for Taiwan, China's Defense Ministry said yesterday.

Ministry spokesman Geng Yansheng told a press briefing: "In light of the serious damage resulting from the US arms sale to Taiwan, planned China-US military exchanges, including high-level visits and joint exercises, will definitely be impacted."

The latest in a long line of extremely high profile arrests that appear to be based on extremely little really concrete evidence, prosecutors have announced Boston physicist Rizwan Ferdaus is being charged with “material support for terrorism” and “attempting to destroy federal buildings using explosives” over what they assure is an enormous plot.   http://news.antiwar.com/2011/09/28/model-plane-enthusiast-netted-in-manufactured-terror-plot/

Why Did Japan Attack Us?

To understand why Japan lashed out, we must go back to World War I. Japan had been our ally. But when she tried to collect her share of the booty at Versailles, she ran into an obdurate Woodrow Wilson.
In 1921, at the Washington Naval Conference, the United States pressured the British to end their 20-year alliance with Japan. By appeasing the Americans, the British enraged and alienated a proud nation that had been a loyal friend.
After Hitler invaded Russia in June 1941, Japan moved into southern Indochina. FDR ordered all Japanese assets frozen.
But FDR did not want to cut off oil. As he told his Cabinet on July 18, an embargo meant war, for that would force oil-starved Japan to seize the oil fields of the Dutch East Indies. But a State Department lawyer named Dean Acheson drew up the sanctions in such a way as to block any Japanese purchases of U.S. oil. By the time FDR found out, in September, he could not back down. http://www.theamericancause.org/patwhydidjapan.htm

The Right To Keep and Bear Arms

Arguably, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution should have been made first in the Bill of Rights because without the right to keep and bear arms, such rights as freedom of speech and freedom of the press would be treated as nothing more than meaningless “privileges” bestowed and taken away by government officials at will. The Second Amendment is the American people's ultimate insurance policy against tyranny because government officials know that guns in the hands of the people provide the only practical means by which to resist tyranny. They know that a disarmed society almost always becomes an obedient society in the face of omnipotent, tyrannical government.   http://www.lewrockwell.com/hornberger/hornberger11.html

NATO's War on Libya is Directed against China: AFRICOM and the Threat to China's National Energy Security

This kind of BS is exactly what lead the Japanese to attack us at Pearl Harbor. Methinks they have bitten off more than they can chew. The Chinese will never allow this. Get ready for WW3 people! Insanity!

The Washington-led decision by NATO to bomb Gaddafi's Libya into submission over recent months, at an estimated cost to US taxpayers of at least $1 billion, has little if anything to do with what the Obama Administration claims was a mission to "protect innocent civilians." In reality it is part of a larger strategic assault by NATO and by the Pentagon in particular to entirely control China's economic achilles heel, namely China's strategic dependence on large volumes of imported crude oil and gas. Today China is the world's second largest importer of oil after the United States and the gap is rapidly closing.

If we take a careful look at a map of Africa and also look at the African organization of the new Pentagon Africa Command—AFRICOM—the pattern that emerges is a careful strategy of controlling one of China's most strategically important oil and raw materials sources.

NATO's Libya campaign was and is all about oil. But not about simply controlling Libyan high-grade crude because the USA is nervous about reliable foreign supplies. It rather is about controlling China's free access to long-term oil imports from Africa and from the Middle East. In other words, it is about controlling China itself.  http://globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=26763

FLASHBACK: Love the Men, Hate the Machine.

We are told every Memorial Day to remember those that gave their lives for your freedom. This is so pervasive in our society that it is hardly ever questioned. We are sold on flags, apple pie and yellow ribbons. We cheer and even get a little misty eyed thinking about those brave soldiers that gave their all for us. Real unemployment rate to each 26 percent in 2012

Some more news from Greece. It's the same everywhere!

The rate of real unemployment will reach 26 percent by next year according to economics professor and director of the Labor Institute of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE-ADEDY) Savas Robolis.
Speaking on Skai television on Wednesday Robolis said that while statistical unemployment figures will reach 21 percent in 2012, real unemployment will reach that of 26 percent, a figure representing 1,3 million Greeks. This will lead to serious pressure on local social security services and loss of revenue for the state.http://www.ekathimerini.com/4dcgi/_w_articles_wsite1_1_28/09/2011_408391

The dislocation of the middle class

Sound familiar!

By Nikos Xydakis
The pension cuts announced by PASOK’s socialist administration in the name of fiscal reform are essentially a shameless embezzlement of social security contributions.
Even those of us who have retired with an early -- and reduced -- pension have paid full contributions for 25 or 30 years of employment. So have, of course, those people who have worked for more than 35 years.
The government is not trimming some welfare benefits; it is rather slashing pensions which have been paid for with decades of social security contributions.  http://www.ekathimerini.com/4dcgi/_w_articles_wsite3_6_23/09/2011_407799

A History of the Office of Naval Intelligence, 1882-1942

THE BIRTH OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE

On March 23, 1882, the Department of the Navy issued General Order No. 292, which established an office of intelligence within the Bureau of Navigation. The order defined the fundamental purpose of this new agency, a purpose that would remain the same for the next sixty years: to collect and record such information as may be useful to the Navy Department in both war and peace. While "information" was implied to mean the maritime technology, strategy, and policy of foreign navies, the Office of Naval Intelligence(ONI) would broaden that definition to include any information that might involve the security of the naval establishment and the nation at large. This broader definition would eventually involve ONI in all manner of espionage, both at home and abroad, against far more than just foreign navies, to include civil rights groups, labor unions, and peace movements, among many others with the most tenuous of links to naval matters
What the heck! They spy on us too! But then we already knew that. http://odh.trevizo.org/oni.html

Why is Marijuana Illegal?

Many people assume that marijuana was made illegal through some kind of process involving scientific, medical, and government hearings; that it was to protect the citizens from what was determined to be a dangerous drug.
The actual story shows a much different picture. Those who voted on the legal fate of this plant never had the facts, but were dependent on information supplied by those who had a specific agenda to deceive lawmakers. You’ll see below that the very first federal vote to prohibit marijuana was based entirely on a documented lie on the floor of the Senate.
You’ll also see that the history of marijuana’s criminalization is filled with:
  • Racism
  • Fear
  • Protection of Corporate Profits
  • Yellow Journalism
  • Ignorant, Incompetent, and/or Corrupt Legislators
  • Personal Career Advancement and Greed
These are the actual reasons marijuana is illegal.  http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/

 "There’s something happening here
What it is ain’t exactly clear"

Join me now, if you have the time, as we take a stroll down memory lane to a time nearly four-and-a-half decades ago – a time when America last had uniformed ground troops fighting a sustained and bloody battle to impose, uhmm, ‘democracy’ on a sovereign nation.

It is the first week of August, 1964, and U.S. warships under the command of U.S. Navy Admiral George Stephen Morrison have allegedly come under attack while patrolling Vietnam’s Tonkin Gulf. This event, subsequently dubbed the ‘Tonkin Gulf Incident,’ will result in the immediate passing by the U.S. Congress of the obviously pre-drafted Tonkin Gulf Resolution, which will, in turn, quickly lead to America’s deep immersion into the bloody Vietnam quagmire. Before it is over, well over fifty thousand American bodies – along with literally millions of Southeast Asian bodies – will litter the battlefields of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Sirte Civilians: NATO Committing Genocide

Corporate media admits Libya operation is brutal genocide - keeps cheering for NATO & rebels.
by Tony Cartalucci

As reported earlier, weeks ago, rebel forces led by US State Department [1] and UK Home Office [2] listed terrorists from the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) [3], a subsidiary of Al Qaeda, announced plans to starve out cities resisting their unelected, foreign backed bid for power. The London Telegraph reported in an article titled, "Libya crisis: Rebel leaders hoping to starve Gaddafi stronghold of Sirte into submission," that under the cover of heavy NATO bombing rebel leaders hoped "to starve Col Gaddafi's home town of Sirte into submission, laying siege to his last remaining stronghold in an attempt to avoid mass bloodshed, according to the man spearheading efforts for a peaceful takeover."   http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2011/09/sirte-civilians-nato-committing.html

Libya's City of Bani Walid Crushes Rebel Advance

Bani Walid residents reject NATO-proxy rule, defeats rebels at their gates.

After weeks of humiliating defeat at the hands of the city's residents and despite merciless terror bombing from NATO, the city's residents have prevailed in collapsing the offensive, after numerous, and verifiably ridiculous claims by the rebel forces that the town had "surrendered" to them already.   http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2011/09/libyas-city-of-bani-walid-crushes-rebel.html

Yes, whoever is employed in that capacity is guilty of aggressive force since their salary is paid via stolen money (taxes) but thanks to gun-run indoctrination (aka public schools, which also exist via stolen money and top-down control) and the mindless rhetoric of the lamestream media, most have never been exposed to, yet alone considered, an alternative.    http://www.copblock.org/8444/hey-nypd-think-for-yourself/

Eric Cantor Pressed FEMA About Aid For His District As Agency Struggled For Funding

WASHINGTON -- Federal Emergency Management Agency officials have been busy convincing Congress to quickly fill its emergency aid coffers, as the agency finds its funds drained by the natural disasters that have hit the country in recent months. The insistence, led by House Minority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), that Congress should cut spending elsewhere to offset disaster relief funding, led to a partisan standoff and nearly shut down the government.   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/09/27/eric-cantor-fema-disaster-aid-funding_n_983579.html
