It's a Sad Day For Me!

Today I lost a friend of close to 13 years on the web,Mike Rivero webmaster par exellence at What was once the best all round news website bar none.
Another poster(That's all I am) My Catbird seat posted a piece of thinly vieled sugar coated Marxist drivel IMHO from Veterans Today! Here are the two paragraphs I wanted to discuss with Mike on air today. I only call about once a year anyway. After I told the call screener what I wanted to talk about he put me on hold for about thirty seconds and then dropped me. I tried to call back but with caller ID to no avail. Got me angry!
1.Here is the first paragraph I wanted to discuss:  "By equality we do not mean “equal opportunity” to get ahead in an unequal society. We mean equality of condition."
Equality of condition under socialism means as in Communist Russia or Communist China,  that we were all equally impoverished while the party hacks lived high on the hog!
2.All who contribute to society have free and equal access to its goods and services, which are shared according to need, not bought and sold. Money is not used. There are no rich and no poor. Here is what Rothschild stooge Karl Marx said: From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.
Karl Marx
3.All the things that people use to produce goods, such as factories and mines and large tracts of land, belong to all the people. These things are a common treasure for all of society, not the property of a few. Again Marx:  The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property.
Here is the link to the Veterans Today piece:

Capitalism is private monopoly. Communism and Socialism is state monopoly! I am not for either. I am a free enterpriser. "The Pilgrims tried collectivism, socialism and communism and found that it produced slough, laziness and destroyed incentive. What did they do about it?
They trashed part of their contract with the London merchants; learned from the local Indians how to produce better crops and harvest more fish; assigned private property rights of land to all members; and, gave them the right to profit from their industry. What happened next?
Bradford wrote about this institution of Christian capitalism: “This had very good success for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.”
Their excess product caused them to create Thanksgiving."
I just wanted to point this out. I had already put a comment on the posted article so Mike knew what I was going to say pretty much. Never got on. In an email he told me that he preferred socialism over fascism. I wasn't going to call the demonstraters on Wall street commies! It's the authors of this deceptive piece I take issue with!  There we go again, the lesser of two evils philosophy that Mike showed us in 2008 when he supported Obama as the lesser of two evils over McCain. That worked out real well didn't it! President Obama is out Bushing President Bush. I know the Israeli's are real happy!
Me,I'm for freedom, not the lesser of two evils!
I'm sorry Mike I feel like a useful idiot a dupe even. But I'm most disappointed in you Mike!
Well Mike gave me a lifetime membership but I have the feeling I'm dead at Whatreally happened now! Hope some of you get to read this but without Mike linking me there wont be much traffic at Catamount Tavern I'm afraid. I was doing this blogging for free. If anybody knows my history they will know why I do it for free.
Anyway the Boys and I will plug away at this! I think America is worth saving and it's the only country I've got!  I am a Patriot and I love my country!  Paste the links in your browser if you want to reference them.Especially the link at the very bottom here to I am a Patriot, sung by Jackson Browne!

I got censored by Mike Rivero today. I made a call to his show to talk about the revolution article put up by My Catbird Seat. I disagree with some of the stuff in it. I doubt if I will ever post there again or will be allowed by Mr. Rivero to post on his once excellent website! He tells me he prefers socialism! I prefer freedom. I've known him for 13 years and now I feel like a useful idiot and a dupe. I will keep plugging away at this site but without Mike linking my posts there wont be too much traffic. So if you wonder what happened to me that's it in a nutshell

The Myth of American Freedom

Judge Napolitano's closing argument yesterday on his FreedomWatch.
Does the government work for us or do we work for the government? Is freedom in America a myth or a reality? Tonight, what if we didn't live in a free country?

U.S. reassures Pakistan amid anti-American protests

Looks like the bully has backed off for now. The prospect of fighting a nation with nukes(Pakistan) and backed by China(more nukes and manpower to burn) has caused somebody to reconsider starting another damn war! And like U.S.M.C. Major General Smedley Butler said many years ago;"War Is A Racket"!
Bring our troops home!

(Reuters) - The United States moved to ease tensions with Islamabad on Friday, telling Pakistan it would not send ground troops to attack militant positions in North Waziristan even as anti-American protests flared around the country.!

FLASHBACK: Al Qaeda magazine celebrates 9/11 anniversary

Since Ole Anwar al Wacky is dead once again(Maybe permanently this time) perhaps Adam Gadhan aka Adam Pearlman can be persuaded  to take over Inspire magazine. After all he is qualified. He has been killed at least once in Pakistan! You can't make this stuff up! Somebody has already beat you to it!

Al Qaeda in Yemen has released an edition of its English-language magazine, "Inspire," celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
In the magazine, the group decries Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent remarks at the United Nations suggesting that the U.S. and Israeli spy agency Mossad may have orchestrated the attacks, saying that Ahmadinejad sought to discredit al Qaeda because "it succeeded where the Iranians had failed."

Refugees: Australia back to drawing board

The recent ruling by the Australian high court prohibiting the Julia Gillard government from moving to Malaysia illegal immigrants arriving in Australia by boat was not only a major blow to Canberra as such, but also a new stumbling block in Australia's attempt to set up a coherent asylum and refugee policy and stem illegal migration.

The U.S. Marine Corps will start shipping in December 10 sets of 20 solar panel systems to Afghanistan to power patrol and forward operating bases as part of an alternative energy initiative to cut the Corps’ fuel use in half by 2025.
Marines consume 5 million barrels of oil at a cost of $1 billion per year. Even more alarming is the number of Marines wounded hauling that fuel on streets laced with improvised explosive devices in the war zone. One Marine is wounded for every 50 fuel and water convoy driven.

In switch, cable operators want to go "a la carte"

It's about time!
NEW YORK, Sept 27 (Reuters) - U.S. cable operators are privately working on a plan to force programmers to unbundle their networks and allow customers to subscribe to channels on an individual basis.
The plan represents a complete reversal from cable operators' long-held opposition to what is known as "a la carte" programming. Over the last decade, the cable industry battled ferociously with regulators to protect the right to bundle programming, arguing it offered customers the best value.

Caveman Diet Plan

The concept behind the Caveman diet is that prehistoric people were much healthier than people today and by adopting the diet of cavemen, modern people can achieve the same level of health. Because human genetics don't change rapidly, proponents of the Caveman diet claim that humans are best suited for the diet utilized 40,000 years ago. The high consumption of grains and other carbohydrates in modern society is blamed for modern health problems such as obesity and diabetes.

Report: Drug war failed, legalize Marijuana!

A lot better for you than vodka!

A report by the Global Commission on Drug Policy concluded the global war on drugs has been an abysmal failure and that governments should consider legalizing marijuana and other controlled substances.
The commission, made up of experts, former heads of state, a former UN secretary-general, and business moguls, found that the drug war has done more harm than good.
"[The] global war on drugs has failed, with devastating consequences for individuals and societies around the world," the report said. “Political leaders and public figures should have the courage to articulate publicly what many of them acknowledge privately: that the evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that repressive strategies will not solve the drug problem, and that the war on drugs has not, and cannot, be won.”

A peek under Saudi Arabia's veil

DAMASCUS - Will the Arab Spring eventually reach Saudi Arabia? This question seems to be on everybody's mind, from think-tanks in the United States to traditional cafes in Damascus and Baghdad.

King Abdullah, aged 87, knows what it takes to please young Saudis. With swift moves, he has managed, for now, to keep a job bequeathed to him and his brothers by their father, the kingdom's founder, King Abdul Aziz. In March, shortly after the collapse of Saudi Arabia's ally, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, in what was seen as a pre-emptive measure, King Abdullah ordered a massive increase in spending, up to $130 billion over the next decade, on measures like affordable housing for young Saudis.

Boston: FBI Thwarts Own R/C Bomb

Another case of FBI entrapment, proving the only terrorism Americans must fear, comes from within the bowels of their own government.
By Tony Cartalucci

The United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) claims to have thwarted their own "drone" bomb, in yet another farcical case of entrapment and fear mongering aimed not at ending the "War on Terror" but perpetuating the mythological, unending conflict.

Occupy Wall Street protesters driven by varying goals

Occupy Wall StreetDay 13 of Occupy Wall Street begins with a march through the streets of Lower Manhattan around the time the opening bell rings on the stock exchange. (Carolyn Cole, Los Angeles Times / September 30, 2011)

The protest, which evolved from a network of individuals and groups galvanized by the demonstrations in Egypt last winter, has moved far beyond what it was on Sept. 17, when police barricaded the streets outside the Stock Exchange to prevent a march there to protest corporate greed. A map in Zuccotti Park pinpoints scores of other cities with Occupy Wall Street events either underway or planned, including sit-ins planned for Los Angeles on Saturday and Washington on Oct. 6.

National Discontent Against the Money Junkies and Government is Spreading Like Wild Fire

I was a little concerned seeing the communist and socialist nut cases like Move On attacking the capitalism;with all the that this country great. Now I read about people wearing the "End the Fed" t-shirts starting to dominate Occupying Wall Street educating others. We are getting to the point like Gerald Celente said. "When people have nothing left to lose. They lose it" It is just not Wall Street and the Bankers that are starting to feel the backlash.

Iraq War Crimes- Depleted Uranium 3 and 4

Iraq War Crimes- Depleted Uranium 1 and 2 of 4

Flashback: U.S. War Crimes in Iraq: A Prima Facie Case

Respectfully submitted to the International Criminal Courtby Paul Rockwell
Oakland, California

The international dispatches about the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq -- replete with graphic details about overcrowded hospitals, U.S. cluster bomb shrapnel buried in the flesh of children, babies deformed by U.S. depleted uranium, farms and markets destroyed by U.S. bombs -- do not make pleasant reading. The mounting evidence from Iraq establishes what many Americans may not want to face: that the highest leaders of the land are violating almost every international agreement relating to the rules of war. Unless we address the possibility of the war crimes by the Bush administration -- and the prima facie evidence is overwhelming -- we betray our conscience, our country, and our own faith in democracy.

Leaders On Test

An editorial From The Frontier Post
As the political leaders get together in Islamabad today in their conclave on the national response to the dire exigencies the country is caught up presently, they will be under close scrutiny of the public.

The Afghan war has palpably gone awry for the Americans and their NATO and Afghan allies, with now just an outside chance for them to salvage it. Not to look having been defeated, they are feverishly out to slap their near-certain debacle on Pakistan and make it their scapegoat and whipping boy. A volley of accusations and threats has already been unleashed on this country by the American generals and their political bosses as well as their lawmakers. Legislative measures are also afloat on the Congressional floors to twist Pakistan’s arm by flaunting the sword of aid stoppage. Their real intent is to browbeat and bend Pakistan to act as they want, regardless of how that venture could hurt Pakistan ruinously.

ISLAMABAD: The All-Party Conference (APC) which was convened in Islamabad at the behest of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has issued a unanimous declaration in which all the various parties called for unity in light of the recent increase in pressure on Pakistan by the United States.

U.S. military action ‘threat’ unites Pakistan

ISLAMABAD — U.S. accusations that Pakistan is supporting Afghan insurgents have triggered a nationalist backlash and whipped up media fears of an American invasion, drowning out any discussion over the army’s long use of jihadi groups as deadly proxies in the region.

Some Anglo-Saxon poetry. One of my favorites!
LO, praise of the prowess of people-kings
of spear-armed Danes, in days long sped,
we have heard, and what honor the athelings won!
Oft Scyld the Scefing from squadroned foes,
from many a tribe, the mead-bench tore,
awing the earls. Since erst he lay
friendless, a foundling, fate repaid him:
for he waxed under welkin, in wealth he throve,
till before him the folk, both far and near,
who house by the whale-path, heard his mandate,
gave him gifts: a good king he!
To him an heir was afterward born,
a son in his halls, whom heaven sent
to favor the folk, feeling their woe
that erst they had lacked an earl for leader
so long a while; the Lord endowed him,
the Wielder of Wonder, with world's renown.
Famed was this Beowulf:[1] far flew the boast of him,
son of Scyld, in the Scandian lands.

Rural Egyptians suffer most from increasing poverty

Things are tough for the little guy everywhere!

Poverty is on the rise in Egypt, particularly in rural areas, according to a study released earlier this month by the government statistics agency. Analysts blame the worsening situation in rural governorates on the government’s bias towards urban development over the past two decades.

Syria will have to wait. The next stop in the Pentagon-coined "long war" is bound to be Pakistan. True, a war is already on in what the Barack Obama administration named AfPak. But crunch time in Pak itself looms closer and closer. Call it the "no bomb left behind" campaign.

Why Did Japan Attack Us?

To understand why Japan lashed out, we must go back to World War I. Japan had been our ally. But when she tried to collect her share of the booty at Versailles, she ran into an obdurate Woodrow Wilson.
In 1921, at the Washington Naval Conference, the United States pressured the British to end their 20-year alliance with Japan. By appeasing the Americans, the British enraged and alienated a proud nation that had been a loyal friend.
After Hitler invaded Russia in June 1941, Japan moved into southern Indochina. FDR ordered all Japanese assets frozen.
But FDR did not want to cut off oil. As he told his Cabinet on July 18, an embargo meant war, for that would force oil-starved Japan to seize the oil fields of the Dutch East Indies. But a State Department lawyer named Dean Acheson drew up the sanctions in such a way as to block any Japanese purchases of U.S. oil. By the time FDR found out, in September, he could not back down.

"Fast And Furious" Just Might Be President Obama's Watergate

Frank Miniter, who wrote this piece, is the author of Saving the Bill of Rights and The Ultimate Man’s Survival Guide.

Why a gunrunning scandal codenamed “Fast and Furious,” a program run secretly by the U.S. government that sent thousands of firearms over an international border and directly into the hands of criminals, hasn’t been pursued by an army of reporters all trying to be the next Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein is a story in itself.

Federal officials ban medical marijuana users from owning firearms

I think another poster put this story up earlier, but you should read some of the ignorant comments by some of the people out in New Mexico!

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is cracking down on medical marijuana users who own or want to own a gun.
Federal authorities say firearms dealers in New Mexico cannot sell guns or ammunition to registered users of the drug.

The Right To Keep and Bear Arms

Arguably, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution should have been made first in the Bill of Rights because without the right to keep and bear arms, such rights as freedom of speech and freedom of the press would be treated as nothing more than meaningless “privileges” bestowed and taken away by government officials at will. The Second Amendment is the American people's ultimate insurance policy against tyranny because government officials know that guns in the hands of the people provide the only practical means by which to resist tyranny. They know that a disarmed society almost always becomes an obedient society in the face of omnipotent, tyrannical government.

Hefty Bonds for Soldiers in Okla. Home Invasion

What's a little home invasion, kidnapping and assault with intent to kill compared to the raping, pillaging, murder of civilians, targeting of civilian infrastructure, the use of depleted uranium munitions and other banned weapons! As the son of an officer, born on post I am ashamed!

Four soldiers from an Oklahoma Army post were being held Wednesday on charges connected with a home invasion last week in which four people were shot and wounded.

NATO's War on Libya is Directed against China: AFRICOM and the Threat to China's National Energy Security

This kind of BS is exactly what lead the Japanese to attack us at Pearl Harbor. Methinks they have bitten off more than they can chew. The Chinese will never allow this. Get ready for WW3 people! Insanity!

The Washington-led decision by NATO to bomb Gaddafi's Libya into submission over recent months, at an estimated cost to US taxpayers of at least $1 billion, has little if anything to do with what the Obama Administration claims was a mission to "protect innocent civilians." In reality it is part of a larger strategic assault by NATO and by the Pentagon in particular to entirely control China's economic achilles heel, namely China's strategic dependence on large volumes of imported crude oil and gas. Today China is the world's second largest importer of oil after the United States and the gap is rapidly closing.

If we take a careful look at a map of Africa and also look at the African organization of the new Pentagon Africa Command—AFRICOM—the pattern that emerges is a careful strategy of controlling one of China's most strategically important oil and raw materials sources.

NATO's Libya campaign was and is all about oil. But not about simply controlling Libyan high-grade crude because the USA is nervous about reliable foreign supplies. It rather is about controlling China's free access to long-term oil imports from Africa and from the Middle East. In other words, it is about controlling China itself.

FLASHBACK: Love the Men, Hate the Machine.

We are told every Memorial Day to remember those that gave their lives for your freedom. This is so pervasive in our society that it is hardly ever questioned. We are sold on flags, apple pie and yellow ribbons. We cheer and even get a little misty eyed thinking about those brave soldiers that gave their all for us. After all nothing could be more honorable than sacrificing yourself for others. This Memorial Day I want you to get past the pomp and circumstance of holiday and really think about the reality of our world.

Destroying a Country's Standard of Living: What Libya Had Achieved, What has been Destroyed

Targeting civilian infrastructure is a war crime under the Geneva Conventions and most of the bombs have Depleted Uranium Penetrators! What kind of men do this! Monsters!
"There is no tomorrow" under a NATO sponsored Al Qaeda rebellion.

While a  "pro-democracy" rebel government has been instated, the country has been destroyed.
Against the backdrop of war propaganda, Libya's economic and social achievements over the last thirty years, have been brutally reversed:
The [Libyan Arab Jamahiriya] has had a high standard of living and a robust per capita daily caloric intake of 3144. The country has made strides in public health and, since 1980, child mortality rates have dropped from 70 per thousand live births to 19 in 2009. Life expectancy has risen from 61 to 74 years of age during the same span of years. (FAO, Rome, Libya, Country Profile,) The rebels are casually presented as "liberators". The central role of Al Qaeda affilated terrorists within rebel ranks is not mentioned.

Real unemployment rate to each 26 percent in 2012

Some more news from Greece. It's the same everywhere!

The rate of real unemployment will reach 26 percent by next year according to economics professor and director of the Labor Institute of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE-ADEDY) Savas Robolis.
Speaking on Skai television on Wednesday Robolis said that while statistical unemployment figures will reach 21 percent in 2012, real unemployment will reach that of 26 percent, a figure representing 1,3 million Greeks. This will lead to serious pressure on local social security services and loss of revenue for the state.

The dislocation of the middle class

Sound familiar!

By Nikos Xydakis
The pension cuts announced by PASOK’s socialist administration in the name of fiscal reform are essentially a shameless embezzlement of social security contributions.
Even those of us who have retired with an early -- and reduced -- pension have paid full contributions for 25 or 30 years of employment. So have, of course, those people who have worked for more than 35 years.
The government is not trimming some welfare benefits; it is rather slashing pensions which have been paid for with decades of social security contributions.

The euro crisis: Major powers plan new bank bailout

28 September 2011
With the major powers lurching back into recession, governments on both sides of the Atlantic are planning another huge bailout of the banks. There are significant differences over how such a bailout should be organised, but there is general agreement that hundreds of billions more in public funds must be allocated to cover the banks’ losses from a sovereign debt default by Greece.

Observations of a Jailed Journalist

Mean while back in America we are being abused too!MetroFocus Web Editor John Farley, kneeling, was arrested while reporting on the Occupy Wall Street protest. Farley was working on a story about citizen journalism at the time. MetroFocus/Sam Lewis

On Sept. 24, while working on a story about citizen journalism for my employer, I found myself arrested, along with many other people. My arrest gave me a unique vantage point on the risks and rewards of citizen journalists, those non-professionals who capture stories (usually without pay) using videos and images via portable technology like a cell phone camera. Anyone, even a passerby or a police officer can be a citizen journalist. That’s its power.
Here’s what happened.

US raid will be against Pak sovereignty: Gilani

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has warned Washington on Tuesday that continued accusations of playing a double game in the war on militancy only risked fanning anti-Americanism in Pakistan.
He said Pakistan had conveyed to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that such unilateral action “will not be acceptable to Pakistan”.

US attack kills 10 Afghan civilians

These kind of actions have destroyed our reputation overseas. At one time this country was loved by most of the world. Not anymore! For every civilian killed, a dozen of his or her relatives will join the Taliban.

The overnight attack took place in a district in Nangarhar province near the border with Pakistan on Wednesday. Witnesses said US troops also arrested a number of Afghans during the attack.
Local officials confirmed the attack and claimed that those killed were anti-government elements. However, the US Military has yet to confirm the assault.
US warplanes also targeted a residential area in Ab Band district of the Ghazni province on Tuesday, leaving 35 people dead.

A History of the Office of Naval Intelligence, 1882-1942

On March 23, 1882, the Department of the Navy issued General Order No. 292, which established an office of intelligence within the Bureau of Navigation. The order defined the fundamental purpose of this new agency, a purpose that would remain the same for the next sixty years: to collect and record such information as may be useful to the Navy Department in both war and peace. While "information" was implied to mean the maritime technology, strategy, and policy of foreign navies, the Office of Naval Intelligence(ONI) would broaden that definition to include any information that might involve the security of the naval establishment and the nation at large. This broader definition would eventually involve ONI in all manner of espionage, both at home and abroad, against far more than just foreign navies, to include civil rights groups, labor unions, and peace movements, among many others with the most tenuous of links to naval matters
What the heck! They spy on us too! But then we already knew that.

Why is Marijuana Illegal?

Many people assume that marijuana was made illegal through some kind of process involving scientific, medical, and government hearings; that it was to protect the citizens from what was determined to be a dangerous drug.
The actual story shows a much different picture. Those who voted on the legal fate of this plant never had the facts, but were dependent on information supplied by those who had a specific agenda to deceive lawmakers. You’ll see below that the very first federal vote to prohibit marijuana was based entirely on a documented lie on the floor of the Senate.
You’ll also see that the history of marijuana’s criminalization is filled with:
  • Racism
  • Fear
  • Protection of Corporate Profits
  • Yellow Journalism
  • Ignorant, Incompetent, and/or Corrupt Legislators
  • Personal Career Advancement and Greed
These are the actual reasons marijuana is illegal.

My War On Drug Laws

Man tell me about it. I lost a year to the damn drug laws. By the time I got out my liver was trashed!
Wish I had some, but I figure it's better to be sick at home than sick in lockup!

USA -- Our marijuana laws are outdated, ineffective and stupid. I'm not alone in thinking this: Half of Americans believe we should stop punishing people for using marijuana. And not coincidentally, more than half of Americans have used marijuana themselves. I am one of those Americans, and I know firsthand that marijuana can be helpful and that it certainly isn't cause for locking anyone up.

Putting Pot in Its Place

medical California -- A Rand Corp. study this week seemed to nip the conventional wisdom about medical marijuana dispensaries in the proverbial bud, contradicting statements from law enforcement officials that these facilities are magnets for crime. On the contrary, Rand researchers said, crime actually increased in the vicinity of hundreds of L.A. dispensaries after they were ordered to shut down.

N.M. Medical Cannabis Program Needs Work

New Mexico -- Four years after New Mexico's Medical Cannabis Program was created, nearly 4,000 New Mexico residents have been approved to use the herb as medicine, and 25 nonprofit producers have been licensed to sell it to them. New Mexico's system for regulating those producers is being adopted by other states as a model for allowing medicinal use of marijuana without seeing pot dispensaries pop up on every street corner, as they have in California and Colorado.

 "There’s something happening here
What it is ain’t exactly clear"

Join me now, if you have the time, as we take a stroll down memory lane to a time nearly four-and-a-half decades ago – a time when America last had uniformed ground troops fighting a sustained and bloody battle to impose, uhmm, ‘democracy’ on a sovereign nation.

It is the first week of August, 1964, and U.S. warships under the command of U.S. Navy Admiral George Stephen Morrison have allegedly come under attack while patrolling Vietnam’s Tonkin Gulf. This event, subsequently dubbed the ‘Tonkin Gulf Incident,’ will result in the immediate passing by the U.S. Congress of the obviously pre-drafted Tonkin Gulf Resolution, which will, in turn, quickly lead to America’s deep immersion into the bloody Vietnam quagmire. Before it is over, well over fifty thousand American bodies – along with literally millions of Southeast Asian bodies – will litter the battlefields of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Sirte Civilians: NATO Committing Genocide

Corporate media admits Libya operation is brutal genocide - keeps cheering for NATO & rebels.
by Tony Cartalucci

As reported earlier, weeks ago, rebel forces led by US State Department [1] and UK Home Office [2] listed terrorists from the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) [3], a subsidiary of Al Qaeda, announced plans to starve out cities resisting their unelected, foreign backed bid for power. The London Telegraph reported in an article titled, "Libya crisis: Rebel leaders hoping to starve Gaddafi stronghold of Sirte into submission," that under the cover of heavy NATO bombing rebel leaders hoped "to starve Col Gaddafi's home town of Sirte into submission, laying siege to his last remaining stronghold in an attempt to avoid mass bloodshed, according to the man spearheading efforts for a peaceful takeover."

Libya's City of Bani Walid Crushes Rebel Advance

Bani Walid residents reject NATO-proxy rule, defeats rebels at their gates.
by Tony Cartalucci

The Associated Press reluctantly reported that Libya's rebels began withdrawing from their front at Bani Walid, approximately 85 miles southeast of Tripoli. After weeks of humiliating defeat at the hands of the city's residents and despite merciless terror bombing from NATO, the city's residents have prevailed in collapsing the offensive, after numerous, and verifiably ridiculous claims by the rebel forces that the town had "surrendered" to them already.

Remains of WWII vet being repatriated from Bosnia

STUTTGART, Germany — For 67 years, the only people who knew about the presence of the American were the residents of the village in western Bosnia-Herzegovina where he was buried.

Contagion, and a sense of humor

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — From the bathroom, the sound of retching.
From the hallway, the sound of laughter and men’s voices echoing.

“Yeah, man. What color is it?”

Military community exasperated at prospect of prolonged shutdown threats

WASHINGTON — Same story, different budget deadline, same headaches for veterans.
After several days of threats of federal furloughs and disruption of military pay, Congress avoided another government shutdown Monday night by agreeing to a six-week temporary budget plan.
The move delays the next budget showdown until November but doesn’t calm the frustration of veterans who have seen their benefits and military programs held hostage by partisan squabbles three times in the last six months.

Pepper Spraying Cop Accused of Abusing Bush Protesters in 2004

Activists have identified the senior New York Police Department officer who allegedly pepper-sprayed young women at the "Occupy Wall Street" protests, and it's not the first time he has been accused of civil rights abuses.
The Guardian confirmed that the officer is Anthony Bologna, who was also accused of civil rights abuses and false arrest during the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City.
Photographs of the officer's badge also suggested that Bologna was the person in question.
A file released by the hacker group Anonymous pointed to a 2007 civil rights suit filed against Bologna.

Hey NYPD: Think For Yourself!

Just as it’s wrong to lump all those active in NYC’s Occupy Wall Street demonstration under one label, so too is it wrong to view those employed by the NYPD (or any other law enforcement agency) as a monolith. Yes, whoever is employed in that capacity is guilty of aggressive force since their salary is paid via stolen money (taxes) but thanks to gun-run indoctrination (aka public schools, which also exist via stolen money and top-down control) and the mindless rhetoric of the lamestream media, most have never been exposed to, yet alone considered, an alternative.

Eric Cantor Pressed FEMA About Aid For His District As Agency Struggled For Funding

WASHINGTON -- Federal Emergency Management Agency officials have been busy convincing Congress to quickly fill its emergency aid coffers, as the agency finds its funds drained by the natural disasters that have hit the country in recent months. The insistence, led by House Minority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), that Congress should cut spending elsewhere to offset disaster relief funding, led to a partisan standoff and nearly shut down the government.
