War veterans proud but struggling as civilians

Remains of 3 GIs missing since 1969 identified

The Pentagon on Monday said it had identified the remains of three soldiers who had been missing in action for more than 40 years. The remains will be buried later this week at Arlington National Cemetery.
The soldiers were identified as:
• Master Sgt. Charles V. Newton of Canadian, Texas.
• Sgt. 1st Class Douglas E. Dahill of Lima, Ohio.

Care For The Veteran Patient

My best buddy from high school and the military(we joined up together) just had his leg amputated and so far so good as far as the VA goes,so far so good. He just got fitted for his prosthetic leg and he is rarin to go home in about a month!

AFGE’s VA Council Denounces Unfair Treatment of VA Employees

(WASHINGTON) – The American Federation of Government Employees’ National VA Council (NVAC) is calling on President Obama to halt the downgrade of administrative positions at Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers. The Council is outraged by this ongoing practice that threatens the livelihood of thousands of employees throughout the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
